Abstract:
To efficiently and stably recover high-grade zinc of JIS distilled zinc metal class 1 from a reduction treatment gas containing metallic zinc vapor generated when reduced iron is produced from electric furnace dust containing iron oxides and zinc oxides.SOLUTION: The present invention: preheats and dries a charcoal-containing briquette produced by mixing and molding electric furnace dust containing iron oxides and zinc oxides, a carbonaceous material, and a binder; further heats the charcoal-containing briquette in an externally heated rotary kiln and reduces iron oxides to produce reduced iron; recovers and removes lead from the reduction treatment gas generated at that time; and then recovers zinc from the reduction treatment gas; thereby enabling the recovery of high-grade zinc of JIS distilled zinc metal class 1 from the electric furnace dust. Further, by recovering and removing lead and then reforming CO2 into CO, zinc can be recovered more efficiently.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
