Abstract:
To provide a system for recovering valuable metal from waste lithium-ion battery capable of recovering lithium at a high recovery rate and enabling recycling resources.SOLUTION: The system for recovering valuable metal from a waste lithium-ion battery of the present invention is configured to: dissolve, in mineral acid, active material powder 1 obtained by pretreatment of waste lithium-ion battery; add lithium hydroxide to the obtained acid dissolution liquid; and then, separate, among the metals contained in the active material powder, at least one kind of metal excluding lithium by solvent extraction, to obtain, as a residual liquid of the solvent extraction, a first lithium salt aqueous solution. In this extraction step, an alkali aqueous solution and the organic solvent are mixed, and then the alkali-containing organic solvent obtained by oil-water separation is mixed with the acid dissolution liquid. An ion exchange membrane is used to electrolyze the first lithium salt aqueous solution. The lithium hydroxide aqueous solution obtained by electrolysis is used as lithium hydroxide to be added to the acid dissolution liquid, or used for solvent extraction.
