Abstract:

To recover manganese oxide from a dry cell by a low-cost method.

The method of recovering manganese oxide from a dry cell includes: a crushing/sieving treatment process of crushing and then sieving the dry cell and obtaining a crushed matter containing manganese oxide particles and zinc oxide particles as a sieved matter; a distribution treatment process of putting the sieved matter after the crushing/sieving treatment process in liquid, separating the aggregate of particles including the manganese particles and the zinc oxide particles existing in the liquid into respective particles and distributing the respective particles in the liquid; and a weight difference separation treatment process of separating the manganese oxide particles and the zinc oxide particles from the liquid after the distribution treatment process by the difference of weight.
