To provide a method for recovering high-purity metal copper through simplified steps.
This method is constituted of the following steps: a muddy iron/water mixture preparation step where iron powder is pulverized using a pulverizer and the resultant pulverized iron powder and water are kneaded to form a muddy iron/water mixture; an agitation reaction step where the above muddy iron/water mixture is put into a copper-chloride-containing waste liquid obtained by recovering a waste liquid of ferric chloride liquor containing copper chloride and they are agitated to undergo reaction; a discharge step where a ferric chloride solution formed by the agitation reaction is discharged and a precipitate precipitated in a bottom part is taken out into a pulverizer; a metal copper separation step where the precipitate taken out into the pulverizer is pulverized in a hydrochloric acid solution having a pH value of ≤4 to separate metal copper; and a rinsing step where the taken-out metal copper is washed with water.
