To provide a method for recovering a metal from a metal-containing substance, not in a form of a metal ion but in a form of metal itself; a method for recovering the metal from the metal-containing substance while recycling a complexation agent; and an apparatus for recovering the metal from the metal-containing substance.
The operation method for recovering the metal from the metal-containing substance includes the steps of: forming a metal complex by bringing the metal-containing substance in contact with a high-pressure fluid containing the complexation agent, and extracting the metal in the metal-containing substance into the high-pressure fluid in a form of the metal complex; and reducing the metal species contained in the metal complex by bringing the high-pressure fluid containing the metal complex in contact with a reducing agent which changes the metal species in the complex to the metal having the valency of 0 to precipitate the metal in the metallic form, separating the metal from the high-pressure fluid, and collecting the metal.
