The method for recovering metal from a metal-containing product brings the metal-containing product in which the silica-containing epoxy resin hardened material and the metal are integrated, into contact with subcritical water in which at least one alkali selected from an alkali metal salt and an alkali metal hydroxide is coexistent, to decompose the epoxy resin hardened material, thereby recovering the metal.
