To provide a sure and safe treating method of waste active carbon used for removing dioxin in waste gas in a waste material treating plant with an incinerating or fusing method, to provide a method for surely supplying carbon source for reduction needed to the recovery of metals in fused slag of the waste material and to provide a method for recovering separately recovered iron and copper not in a mixing state and effectively reusing them as the variable metal.
The waste material is treated at a high temp., and the metallic components in the produced fused slag are reduced, and the obtd. metals are separately recovered from the slag e.g. by using the difference of the sp. grs. The waste material is incinerated at high temp., fused at high temp. and/or gasified with the high temp. treatment thereof. The reduction of the metallic components is desirable to execute by using carbon-base material as the reducing agent. As for the carbon-base material, the waste active carbon used for a toxic substance removing treatment in the waste gas produced with the high temp. treatment of the waste material may be used.
