To provide a recovering method of metallic base material in a metal base composite material, by which the high purity metallic base material can efficiently be recovered without bringing about the cost-up.
The metal base composite material 1 is heated and melted in a vessel 2 and flux 3 is added in the molten material to shift a reinforcing material 4 contained in the metallic base composite material 1 into the flux 3 by stirring and mixing operations. The mixture is settled and, after floating up the flux 3 containing the reinforcing material 4, the material is taken out as the upper slag. Successively, inert gas is blown into the residual metallic base material 5 having the possibility of yet containing the reinforcing material 4 and the flux 3, and the flux 3 is positively brought into contact with the surface of the reinforcing material 4. Further, the flux 3 containing the reinforcing material 4 is floated up and taken out as the upper slag, and thereafter, the molten material is supplied into a filtering process.
