Abstract:

To provide a new method for recovering nitric acid that recovers nitric acid from a waste solution containing nitric acid and nitrate at a low cost using an apparatus of a simple structure to give a nitric acid solution of high purity.

Gas vaporizing from a nitric acid waste solution is blown into an acid solution containing a ferrous salt, while a gas vaporizing from the acid solution containing a ferrous salt is blown into a solution containing nitric acid. The gas is thus circulated between the solution containing nitric acid and the acid solution containing a ferrous salt to convert a nitrogen oxide contained in the gas vaporizing from the acid solution containing a ferrous salt to nitric acid for recovery.
