Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a method for recovering an industrially useful organosulfur compound from a mineral oil obtained from petroleum, oil sand, oil shell and coal in a state where an original chemical structure contained in a mineral oil is kept.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid oil containing an organosulfur compound is treated with an oxidizing agent and then the oxidized organosulfur compound is recovered by a separation means such as distillation. The recovered organosulfur compound is a sulfoxide compound and/or a sulfone compound.
