Abstract:

To provide a method for selectively separating and recovering palladium from palladium-containing selenium powder.

Palladium-containing selenium powder is dissolved at a liquid temperature of 55°C or lower by adding hydrochloric acid and an oxidizer to the palladium-containing selenium powder (dissolution step); an organic solvent, preferably, containing 20-25 vol.% of dihexyl sulfide is brought into contact with the resulting solution to extract only palladium to the organic solvent (extraction step); and an ammonium water is brought into contact with the organic solvent including the extracted palladium to reversely extract the palladium to an aqueous phase (reverse extraction step), whereby palladium is separated and recovered from the selenium powder.
