Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently recover platinum group elements from a platinum group element-containing substance such as a waste catalyst by dry treatment.
SOLUTION: In the method of recovering platinum group elements, the platinum element-containing raw material to be treated, and a copper source material comprising at least one kind selected from metallic copper and copper oxide are melted under heating in a furnace together with flux components and a reducing agent so as to be separated into slag based oxide and molten metal by a specific gravity difference, and the platinum group elements are absorbed into the molten metal. In this case, the content of the oxide of Al in the raw material to be treated before charging into the furnace, and, according to circumferences, further, the contents of the oxides of Si and Fe are previously analyzed and grasped, and the composition of the flux components to be charged to the furnace is controlled in accordance with the contents of the oxides, so that the componential composition of the slag based oxide is regulated to a desired range.
