The method of recovering the raw material from the smudged sanitary ware comprises pulverizing the smudged sanitary ware containing the highly water-absorbing resin that absorbed water and gelled in the existence of a disinfectant, dispersing the pulverized material of the sanitary ware in disinfectant-containing water, decomposing the pulverized material of the sanitary ware into each raw material to separate a part of the smudge attached to the sanitary ware from the pulverized material of the sanitary ware, dispersing the pulverized material of the sanitary ware in hot water, and further decomposing the pulverized material of the sanitary ware into each raw material of the sanitary ware to separate a part of the remaining smudge attached to the sanitary ware.
