A storage tank 2 is charged with purge gas 1 produced by gasifying liquefied purge gas 5 of lower temperature than the liquefied temperature of a storage fluid, by a heat exchanger 11 when the storage fluid liquefied and stored in the storage tank 2 is discharged from the storage tank 2. Residual gas 3 remaining inside the storage tank 2 due to the gasification of a part of the storage fluid is ejected from the storage tank 2 by the purge gas 1. The residual gas 3 immediately after ejected from the storage tank 2 is brought into direct contact with the liquefied purge gas 5 and heat-exchanged by the heat exchanger 11 so as to be liquefied and recovered as liquefied gas.
