Abstract:

To recover sensible heat at a high sensible heat recovery rate from slag which is still at a high temperature after being cooled and solidified in a cooling roller type slag cooling device.

In recovery of the sensible heat of slag by supplying molten slag onto the outer peripheral surface of a rotating cooling roller to cool and solidify the molten slag and then bringing the solidified slag into contact with a heat exchange gas to recover the sensible heat of the slag, the molten slag supplied to the cooling roller is cooled and solidified in a shape of a plate or flake with a thickness of 10 mm or less, and sensible heat is recovered from the slag. In the recovery of the sensible heat of the slag, it is preferred that the heat exchange gas is countercurrently flowed to the slag which is charged into a heat recovery column and descending in the column so that the slag is come into contact with the gas.
