Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for recovering a sulfonic group-containing polymer which can be used in electrolytes for primary cells, electrolytes for secondary cells, polymeric solid electrolytes for fuel cells, display elements, various sensors, signal transmission media, solid capacitors, ion-exchange membranes and the like.
SOLUTION: The method for recovering a sulfonic acid group-containing polymer comprises (1) a step of carrying out the sulfonation of a polymer in sulfuric acid having a concentration of 95.5-99.5 at a weight ratio of the polymer to the sulfuric acid of 1/5 to 1/60 and (2) a step of rendering the ratio (weight ratio) of the sulfuric acid to the water in the reaction solution after sulfonation 94/6 to 85/15 and subsequently coagulating the sulfonated polymer.
