To efficiently recover uranium contained in a waste.
The waste 1 is heated to a temperature range of an ambient temperature to a temperature less than 300°C by a heater 11 after an inside of a reactor 6 is brought into an atmosphere of hydrogen fluoride gas 12 to generate uranium hexafluoride 3 from the uranium in the waste and the hydrogen fluoride gas 12, and the uranium hexafluoride 3 is selectively recovered using an adsorption recovery tower 4 or a deposit recovery tower 5. Alternatively, the waste 1 is heated to a temperature range of 300°C-600°C by the heater 11 after the inside of the reactor 6 is brought into an atmosphere of inert gas 13 to decompose a complex of the uranium hexafluoride 3 and an alkali element or alkaline earth element, and the uranium hexafluoride 3 is selectively recovered using the adsorption recovery tower 4 or the deposit recovery tower 5.
