Title:
METHOD OF RECOVERING VALUABLE METAL FROM IZO SCRAP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013060662
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method of efficiently recovering indium and zinc from an indium-zinc oxide (IZO) sputtering target or IZO scrap such as IZO mill ends arising during manufacture.

The method of recovering valuable metal from IZO scrap is characterized in that indium and zinc are recovered as hydroxide, by using the IZO scrap on both of an anode and a cathode and periodically reversing polarity thereof to be subjected to electrolysis. Further, the method of recovering valuable metal from the IZO scrap is characterized in that indium and zinc are recovered as oxide of indium and zinc by roasting the hydroxide of indium and zinc obtained by the electrolysis.
