Abstract:

To recycle ladle slag having basicity of ≥2 as a resource for civil engineering works, wherein the ladle slag can be handled without inducing any environmental problems associated with pulverization of the slag, does not adversely affect converter refining and can be used as the resource for civil engineering works without causing elution of B exceeding environmental standards for soil.

The slag (ladle slag) is formed on a surface of molten steel in a ladle housing the molten steel. The method for recycling the ladle slag as the resource comprises: mixing a B-containing additive (pulverization inhibitor) into the slag in a molten state having a slag composition with a mass ratio of CaO to SiO2 (basicity) of ≥2; cooling and subsequently pulverizing the ladle slag; adding the ladle slag to slag (converter slag) formed inside a converter, provided that the ladle slag is added to the converter slag after completion of oxygen blowing in the converter and before completion of drainage of the converter slag into a slag shipping container; and discharging the converter slag from the slag shipping container and naturally cooling the same before using the same as the resource for civil engineering works.
