Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a clean air environment and prevent respiratory by reducing the amount of microorganisms being a factor for air infection in a contaminated air by preparing an air filter having a fiberglass containing an antimicrobially effective amount of an inorganic antimicrobial agent and by forcing the contaminated air through the air filter.
CONSTITUTION: To construct the air filter 16 treated antimicrobially with an air filter body 14 containing a fiberglass combined with a scrim 12. Then, by preparing the air filter body 14 containing an antimicrobially effective amount of an inorganic antimicrobial agent and by forcing the contaminated air through the air filter, the amount of microorganism in the contaminated air is decreased. And, the inorganic antimicrobial agent exists with 0.01-2.00 g (calculated as metal) per one feet square of the fiberglass. And the inorganic antimicrobial agent is a compound (for example, silver nitrate) containing an element selected from a group composed of silver, copper, gold and zinc.
