Abstract:

PURPOSE:To maintain a wide laminar boundary layer to aim at reducing the drag of a body, by sucking boundary layers in an unstable transition zone from the laminar boundary layer to a turbulent flow layer among boundary layers developing over the outer surface of the body. CONSTITUTION:Among boundary layers developing over the outer surface of a body, boundary layers in an unstable transition zone from a laminar boundary layer to a turbulent flow layer is sucked by a sucked pipe lines 20 and a pump 21 through slits 13. Due to suction of boundary layers in the unstable zone it is possible to maintain a wide laminar boundary layer to aim at reducing the drag of the body.
