Abstract:
To provide a method for reducing a body weight and to provide a method for treating obesity in humans.
This method for reducing the body weight and treating obesity comprises a step of administering a nutritionally effective amount of a conjugated linoleic acid to humans. The conjugated linoleic acid in the form of a free acid or its chemical derivative can be fed in a pill or as a component of a prepared food. The method for treating the obesity in humans is also provided. The method comprises a step of orally administering a therapeutically effective amount of the conjugated linoleic acid. The nutritionally effective amount or the therapeutically effective amount of the conjugated linoleic acid is preferably about 0.1 to 15 g per day.
