Title:
METHOD FOR REDUCING OFFENSIVE ODOR AND CONTAMINATED SOIL SAMPLER IN EXCAVATING CONTAMINATED SOIL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010188261
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for reducing an odor (offensive odor) generated from contaminated soil contained in soil and a contaminated soil sampler, in excavating the contaminated soil containing oils and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The system includes a first step of partitioning an excavation area with a liquid curtain formed by a deodorant or deodorant suspension, a second step of allowing an excavating/sampling section of the soil sampler to pass through the liquid curtain from the outside of the liquid curtain to reach the excavation area inside the liquid curtain to excavate the contaminated soil and sample the same into the excavating/sampling section, and a third step of allowing the contaminated soil held inside the excavating/sampling section in the second step to pass through the liquid curtain to move the same soil to another place, thereby preventing the offensive odor from being diffused by allowing the offensive odor generated in excavating the contaminated soil to gas-liquid contact the liquid curtain.
