To efficiently reduce the oxide on the surface of a metallic plate in a short time without using the large scale of device by blowing plasma of reducing gas induced with microwave under the atmospheric pressure to a metallic plate continuously passed in a heating furnace.
Gaseous nitrogen is supplied into a plasma generating chamber 7 from a gas supplying source 9 of a continuous treating device to replace the air in the chamber 7. Successively, the power source of a microwave generating source 6 is put on and the material 8 inducing the generation of the plasma is heated and also, the reducing gas is supplied into the chamber 7 from the gas supplying source 9 by changing over a valve to form the plasma. The generated plasma is fed into a treating chamber through a plasma flowing passage 5 and the steel plate 1 continuously passed, is heated and the oxide on the surface of the steel plate 1 is reduced. The plasma blown to the steel plate 1 and the gas after reacting the reducing gas with the oxide, are desirable so as to flow on a carry-in side of the steel plate 1.
