In the method of reducing the resonance phenomenon in the transmission train 6 of the internal combustion engine 2 for the vehicle 1, when a rotation speed N of at least part of the transmission train 6 is established so that the frequency of a disturbance harmonic component C4 of driving torque T lies in the neighborhood of a resonance frequency Fr of the transmission train 6, the standard control mode of a cylinder 5 is modified to modify the pattern of the driving torque T as the function of an engine angle α and modify the distribution of a harmonic component C of the driving torque T to reduce the amplitude of the disturbance harmonic component C4.
