Title:
METHOD FOR REDUCING TENDENCY TOWARD FORMATION OF COATING NON-UNIFORMITY IN COATING OF MULTILAYER PHOTOGRAPHIC ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003029377
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce the tendency toward formation of coating non-uniformities in the coating of a multilayer photographic element.

Coating compositions for a non-gelatin layer and a gelatin- containing layer are prepared. These layers are included in a layered group suitable for coating on a movable web, this layered group further includes at least one silver halide emulsion layer, and in measurement at coating temperature, the osmotic pressure of the coating composition for the non-gelatin layer is lower than that of the coating composition for the gelatin-containing layer within <30%. Laminar flows of the layered group containing the coating compositions are formed as separate layers. The non-gelatin layer is on and adjacent to the gelatin-containing layer and the gelatin-containing layer is the topmost gelatin-containing layer of the layered group. The movable web including a photographic support receives the layered group as a layer forming coating at the place of a coating application point. The layered group includes the non-gelatin layer and the gelatin-containing layer and is simultaneously applied on the movable web together with silver halide emulsion layers.
