Abstract:
To provide a method for reducing the water content of stored coal, which is excellent in effect of reducing the water content of low-grade coal, achieves easy and inexpensive treatment, avoids spontaneous ignition, and is suitable for increasing the calorific value of low-grade coal, reducing transportation cost and improving the thermal efficiencies of various coal treatments.
The method for reducing the water content of stored coal includes the steps of: spraying an aqueous solution of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 11 on a surface of particles of low-grade coal having a water content of 20%; and drying the low-grade coal on which the aqueous solution of the nonionic surfactant has been sprayed.
