Title:
METHOD FOR REFINING ALUMINUM AND ITS USE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3674322
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for refining aluminum by efficiently crystallizing high-purity aluminum from the molten aluminum contg. eutectic impurities of Si, Fe, etc., and to furnish its use.
SOLUTION: A cooling body is dipped in molten aluminum and cooled so that the surface temp. of the cooling body is cooled below the liquidus temp. of the molten aluminum, and the refined aluminum is crystallized and grown on the cooling body surface. In this case, the molten aluminum is turned so that the centrifugal acceleration action on the molten aluminum is controlled to 0.01-1,500 m/s2 around the cooling body, a gas bubble is introduced into the molten aluminum so that the amt. of the bubble forming gas is adjusted to 0.01-150 l (25°C, 1 atm) per kg aluminum to be refined and recovered, and the refinined aluminum is crystallized on the cooling body surface.
