Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of a high purity aluminum which has excellent refining efficiency of eutectic impurities, such as Si, Fe, under industrially profitable condition, and a use of the refined aluminum obtd. with this method.
SOLUTION: The refining method for the aluminum by utilizing a segregation principle, is composed of a process (process 1), in which after crystallizing the aluminum having high purity by cooling in a vessel holding the raw material molten aluminum, the low purity molten aluminum remaining in the inner part of the vessel is discharged, and a process (process 2), in which the raw material aluminum is newly supplied into the vessel in the molten state, etc., and after forming the molten state together with the crystallized aluminum in the process 1 with the sensible heat of the molten aluminum, etc., the molten aluminum is again cooled to crystallize the high purity aluminum, and successively, the crystallized aluminum is separated from the low purity aluminum remaining in the inner part of the vessel.
