Abstract:
To provide a refining method which can obtain an austenitic stainless steel excellent in both of wire drawability and fatigue strength by changing produced non-metallic inclusion during refining into the harmless non-metallic inclusion having good extension property.
In the refining method of the austenitic stainless seel, in which molten austenitic stainless steel is held in a refining vessel, and after decarburize-refining the molten steel and adjusting Cr and Ni contents so as to become the target concns., deoxidation with Si is executed, into the molten steel after Si-decarburizing, successively, both Ca and REM are added and the total concn. of Ca and REM in the molten steel is adjusted in the range of 0.0001-0.0015 wt.%.
