Abstract:
To provide: a method for refining copper, capable of reducing the content of nickel being an impurity when separating and refining the copper from the nickel to collect a refined solution including high purity copper; a chelating resin; a copper chelating agent; and a copper refiner.SOLUTION: The method for refining copper comprises: the dissolution step of preparing a dissolved solution obtained by dissolving copper and nickel; the adsorption step of contacting the dissolved solution to the chelating resin to adsorb copper ions and nickel ions on the chelating resin; the cleaning step of passing a low concentration acid solution to discharge a solution including the nickel ions; and the collection step of passing a high concentration acid solution to obtain a solution including the copper ions. The chelating resin carries a chain chelating agent having four coordination groups selected from an amino group or a carboxyl group, and at least one of the four coordination groups is a primary amino group or a secondary amino group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
