PURPOSE: To develop a method for refining crude oil, which can reduce equipment cost and operating cost, can raise the yield of intermediate fractions such as kerosine and gas oil, and makes it possible to perform stable operation by simple operation control.
CONSTITUTION: A method for refining crude oil efficiently, which comprises separating the naphtha fraction from crude oil (in a predistillation tower 1), hydrodesulfurizing the residual fraction (in a hydrodesulfurizer 2), subjecting to high-pressure separation (in a high-pressure separation tank 3), subjecting the separated heavy residual oil to fluid catalytic cracking (in a unit 4 for fluid catalytic cracking of heavy residual oil), hydrorefining the light fraction separated in the high-pressure separation tank 3 together with the light oil obtained by cracking in the unit 4 (in a hydrorefining unit 5), and distilling (in an atmospheric distillation tower 6) into each fraction. A hydrodesulfurizer 7 for desulfurizing the naphtha fraction separated in the predistillation tower 1 is also provided.
