Abstract:
To provide a method of directly reforming a mold made of an aluminum alloy for improving its wear resistance.
A tire mold consisting of an Al-Si based alloy is subjected to first heat treatment in which the mold is held in the temperature range of 500 to 560°C for 2 to 10 hr and is rapidly cooled, and is subjected to secondary heat treatment in which the mold is held at room temperature for ≥3 hr, then held in the temperature range of 120 to 200°C for 1 to 10 hr and subsequently is cooled.
