To provide a method of refurbishing an electric dust collector while reliably keeping the production efficiency by shortening the period of the refurbishing work.
An old electric dust collector body 1 to be replaced is supported by a carriage 2 and the old electric dust collector body 1 is parted from a gas channel and also the leg parts 3 of the old electric dust collector body 1 are parted from an installation part and the old electric dust collector body 1 bearing the leg parts 3 and supported by the carriage 2 is moved from the installation part. A new electric dust collector body 1 to which leg parts 3 are attached and supported by a carriage 2 is moved to the installation part and the leg parts 3 of the new electric dust collector body 1 are connected to the installation part and also the new electric dust collector body 1 is connected to the gas channel and the carriage 2 which supports the new electric dust collector body 1 is moved from the installation part of the electric dust collector body 1.
