Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a regeneration efficiency of a hydrogen type cation exchange resin when the hydrogen type cation exchange resin is regenerated by hydrogen ion-containing water generated by electrolysis of water.SOLUTION: A method for regenerating a hydrogen type cation exchange resin is provided that comprises: storing tap water in a water tank 10 which is divided into an anode chamber 14 having an anode 11 and a cathode chamber 15 having a cathode 12 by a diaphragm 13 having ion permeability, and arranging in the anode chamber 14, a hydrogen type cation exchange resin group 16 which needs to be subjected to regeneration treatment; and circulating acid water generated in the anode chamber 14 through a first circulation path 50 and circulating alkaline water generated in the cathode chamber 15 through a second circulation path 60 while electrolyzing the tap water stored in the water tank 10 by causing electric current to flow between the anode 11 and the cathode 12. The hydrogen type cation exchange resin group 16 is ion-exchanged with hydrogen ions contained in the circulated acid water, and is regenerated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
