Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently regenerate Pd(0) by oxidation in an acetic acid or trifluoroacetic acid solvent even in the presence of water by using a complex capable of forming an oxygen complex and an alkali metal salt.

CONSTITUTION: A complex MmXn.Ll capable or forming an oxygen complex by the coordinate linkage with oxygen is used as an oxidizing agent, and an alkali metal salt M'X' is allowed to exist in the reaction system in the method for oxidizing and regenerating palladium Pd(0) by the oxidizing agent in an acetic acid and/or trifluoroacetic acid solvent (where M is group I, group IVWVII, etc., transition metals of the periodic table, M' is Li, K, etc., X is the ions of a halogen, BF4, etc., X' is the ions of a halogen, CH3COO-, etc., L is an org. phosphorous compd., and l is the coordination number). Consequently, Pd(0) can be rapidly regenerated into Pd(2) under mild conditions even in an aq. system.
