The method for regenerating the exhaust gas treatment catalyst comprises: a used catalyst coarsely-crushing step S1 of coarsely crushing the used exhaust gas treatment catalyst 11; a separation step S2 of separating the coarsely-crushed catalyst into coarse chips 12 and fine powder 13; a used catalyst finely-crushing step 3 of finely crushing the coarse chips 12; steps S4-S7 of kneading the obtained finely-crushed powder with another raw material, molding the kneaded mixture, drying the molded mixture and firing the dried mixture to obtain a base body 14; a new catalyst crushing step S8 of crushing a new exhaust gas treatment catalyst 15; a slurry preparation step S9 of slurrying the crushed new exhaust gas treatment catalyst 15 to obtain a slurried solution; a slurry coating step S10 of coating the surface of the base body 14 with the slurried solution 16; a coating drying step S11 of drying the base body 14 coated with the slurried solution 16; and a coating firing step S12 of firing the dried base body at the temperature high than the firing temperature when the exhaust gas treatment catalyst 15 is produced, so that the regenerated exhaust gas treatment catalyst 17 is obtained.
