Abstract:
To provide a method for preventing a level brick for ingot-making from cracking, and also to provide a level brick for ingot-making which hardly causes cracks.
One or more of iron bands 3 are wound on the outer periphery of the level brick 2 for ingot-making under conditions of: (1) the restricting force is made to ≥0.02 kg/mm2; (2) the area in contact with the ingot-making stool brick is ≥6% of the area in the outer periphery of the level brick; and (3) the distance L1 between the end part of the level brick and the center in the width direction of the iron-band 3 is within 60% of the length L0 of the level brick and/or the distance between the centers in the width direction of the adjacent iron-bands is within 60% of the length L0 of the level brick.
