Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease the loss of energy in removal of foreign material to thereby reduce the cost of fuel required for thermal decomposition, to reduce the loss of time, to facilitate the separation of foreign material recovered together with a melt and simplify the handling of the mixture of the residue and the melt, and to prevent the vaporization of the sucked melt.
CONSTITUTION: In equipment for thermal decomposition of plastics wherein a plastics is melted and thermally decomposed and the generated thermal decomposition gas is condensed by cooling and recovered as a thermal decomposition oil, the foreign material and residue depositing in a thermal decomposition reactor for melting and thermally decomposing a plastics are removed by a method wherein a jet pump 10 is used to inject the recovered thermal decomposition oil to thereby suck a melt 18 containing the foreign material and residue of the plastics.
