Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a laser ablating method and device capable of melting and removing a light receiving body coating.
CONSTITUTION: A desired area on a light receiving body drum 2 is irradiated with a CO2 laser beam from a laser part 50 through an optical train 52 to execute laser ablation. The drum 2 is supported so as to rotate by a handling part 54, and the handling part 54 is reciprocated on supporting rails 56, 57. A high speed protective curtain is formed by an annular nozzle 59, and ablated fragments are carried away in the direction away from the non-processing end part of the drum 2. Thereafter, the fragments are discharged by a sucking and evacuating system 61.
