To provide a method for removing a floor slab-penetrating portion of an existing vertical pipe that allows easy pull out work even in a small work space when the floor slab-penetrating portion of the existing pipe is removed by upwardly pulling out it such as when renewing an existing vertical pipe which penetrates a floor slab to a new pipe.

The method comprises a process of forming a cutting-removal portion 11 by cutting the existing vertical pipe at the upper and lower positions of the floor slab-penetrating portion which penetrates the floor slab of one story, a process of cutting and removing the existing vertical pipe 1 between a floor slab S and the floor slab S of a one upper story so that a distance from the upper end of the cutting-removal portion 11 to the upper end of a cut part 12 is not smaller than the vertical size of the cutting-removal portion 11, a process of fixing and supporting the block body of a chain block 3 to the remainder 1a of the existing vertical pipe above the cut part, a process of fixing the lower end of the chain 33 of the chain block 3 to the upper portion of the cutting-removal portion 11 above the floor slab S, and a process of upwardly pulling out the cutting-removal portion 11 from the floor slab S by operating the chain block 3.
