To provide a separation and recovery method of harmful metal components from waste wood by digesting and pulping waste wood containing harmful components such as CCA (Chrom, Copper and Arsenic components), and electrodepositing the harmful components extracted into a chemical solution.
In this removal method of harmful metal components from waste wood, harmful metal components incorporated in waste wood is extracted therefrom and removed. The method comprises a digesting process 1 for dipping crushed waste wood chips in an alkaline solution to be digested, extracting and separating the harmful metal components and lignin contained in the chips, and recovering unbleached pulp; a filtering process 2 separating the unbleached pulp obtained in the digesting process 1 from the chemical solution (black liquor) used in digestion; and an electrodepositing process 3 electrodepositing and separating the harmful metal components from the alkaline solution extracting the lignin and harmful components. The alkaline solution contains sodium hydroxide or a mixture of sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfide.
