Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING IRON IN CLAY MINERAL USING BIOCHEMICAL PERCOLATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3623754
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing iron in a clay mineral allowing remarkably simplifying or omitting a cleaning process and continuously removing iron, having excellent environmental compatibility and using a biochemical percolating method by simultaneously carrying out the biochemical percolation process by a microorganism and an iron adsorption process by an adsorbent in the single process.
SOLUTION: This method for removing iron in the clay mineral using the biochemical percolation comprises a step of preparing a mineral solution containing a raw mineral to be treated and a step of simultaneously treating the biochemical percolation process by the microorganism and the process for adsorbing iron ion in the percolated solution by adding metallic salt reducing bacteria as a microorganism, a substrate and a iron ion adsorbent to the mineral solution.
