Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING MERCURY FROM WASTE CONTAINING MERCURY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6161687
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To separate and recover mercury from the titled waste contg. mercury and to solve problems relating to environmental pollution by heat-treating the waste contg. mercury with an external heating type rotary kiln at the temp. within the range of 400W700°C in reducing atmosphere.

CONSTITUTION: The pretreated material to be treated is introduced into a heating kiln 2 from a raw material feed tank 1. A feeder 3 is structured so that excess air is not extremely introduced to the inside of the kiln. Thereafter the material is heat-treated at 400W700°C temp. for 3W5hr in the inside of the kiln. The gas generated in the treating period is introduced into a secondary combustion chamber 11 and burned by feeding the secondary air while controlling the oxygen quantity. Before the wet treatment, the combustion waste gas is cooled and treated with an indirect cooler 12 used a cyclone in combination to recover mercury.
