PURPOSE: To separate rubber from metal piece, easily and surely, in high separation efficiency, by roughly crushing rubber scrap, heating to a specific temperature by high-frequency induction heating, applying shearing force to the rubber to effect the peeling of the rubber from the metal pieces, and separating the components from each other.
CONSTITUTION: Rubber scrap containing electrically conductive metal pieces is roughly crushed and heated by high-frequency induction heating until the surface of the metal piece is heated above the decomposition temperature of the vulcanized rubber or adhesive, when a shearing force is applied to the rubber to effect the peeking of the rubber from the metal pieces. Thereafter, both components are separated from each other.
EFFECT: The difficulty in pulverization and the damage of roll can be prevented in the pulverization of the rubber with a fine-crushing roll.
