Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING NICKEL IN LEAD BY DRY PROCESS REFINING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2706220
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a lead base material having high purity by making it possible to lower the nickel content in lead to the lowest possible level by dry process refining.
CONSTITUTION: Crude lead is produced by subjecting nickel-contg. lead raw materials to reduction refining. Sulfur or a mixture composed of this sulfur and iron sulfide is added and mixed to and with the crude lead of this molten state and the nickel sulfide separated and formed in the upper layers is removed. The oxide of nickel separated in the upper layers is removed by mixing an oxidizing agent with the mixture and heating up the mixture after the mixing described above. Otherwise, the oxide of nickel separated in the upper layers is removed by mixing sodium nitrate and sodium hydroxide therewith after removing described above. This method for removing the nickel in the lead by the dry process refining comprises removing the phosphide of nickel separated in the upper layers by further mixing phosphorus or metal-phosphorus compd. with the mixture after subjecting the mixture to any of the nickel removing treatments described above.
