Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING NITROGEN OXIDE AND DEVICE THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3145582
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To settle the discharge problem of NOx incidental to the removal of NOx by a reverse-osmosis membrane process and to economically put the device to practical use by reducing the NOx in the non-permeated water with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst to nitrogen and removing the generated nitrogen.
CONSTITUTION: A water to be treated contg. NOx is pretreated in a remover 10, boosted by a water feed pump 20 and introduced into a reverse-osmosis membrane device 12. The water is separated into a permeated water with the NOx concn. lower than the drinking standard and a non-permeated water relatively high in NOx concn. The permeated water is sent to the outside and drunk. Meanwhile, the high-pressure non-permeated water is mixed with hydrogen in a hydrogen feed part 14, dissolved and then introduced into a reduction tower 16 by the self pressure. The NOx in the non-permeated water is reduced in the tower 16 with hydrogen into nitrogen under high pressure and in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst, and the nitrogen is separated from liq. in a gas-liq. separation tank 18 under normal pressure and removed.
