Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING NITROGEN OXIDE IN WASTE GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5715824
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce NOX at a low cost by using iron ore as a reducing catalyst for NOX at the time of reducing the NOX contained in various waste gases in the presence of ammonia thereby making the gases harmless.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of making harmful waste gases contg. NOX such as waste combustion gases and waste gases of reaction systems harmless by reducing the NOX to nitrogen by using ammonia as a reducing agent, iron ore is used as a reducing catalyst. As compoared to conventional catalysts such as Pt, Co and the like, iron ore is extremely inexpensive and does not require catalyst carriers. After the use as a catalyst, it retains the initial value as a raw material for iron making, and therefore, the cost of denitration is reduced considerably by the extremely inexpensive catalyst of good efficiency.
