Abstract:
To provide a method for removing an oxide film from metal powder that removes an oxide film from untreated metal powder, giving treated metal powder capable of producing high-density sintered metal; and a method for producing sintered metal that gives sintered metal using the treated metal powder obtained by the method for removing the oxide film from metal powder.SOLUTION: A method for removing an oxide film from metal powder includes the steps of: putting an alkaline solution into a container having a cathode, and bringing the cathode into contact with the alkaline solution; putting untreated metal powder having a core particle and an oxide film thereon into the alkaline solution and bringing the cathode into contact with the untreated metal powder; bringing an anode into contact with the alkaline solution having the untreated metal powder put thereinto; and applying a voltage to between the cathode and the anode, subjecting the oxide film to a reduction reaction to remove the oxide film, resulting in treated metal powder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
