PURPOSE: To efficiently and actually carry out removal of polyphenols contained in a vegetable beverage, by filtering a vegetable liquid beverage using a filter sheet consisting of insoluble polyvinylpyrrolidone and fibrous matrix.
CONSTITUTION: A filter sheet prepared by homogeneously blending water- insoluble polyvinylpyrrolidone obtained by crosslinking water-soluble homopolymer of N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone with a fiber matrix, such as natural cellulose fiber, is used to filter a vegetable liquid beverage, such as beer or wine, to efficiently remove polyphenols contained in the above-mentioned vegetable beverage. Furthermore, the above-mentioned filter sheet after use is preferably subjected to regeneration treatment with an dilute alkali solution and repeatedly used.
